This project is an exercise in stylistic diversity and customization – two of the design buzzwords of the early 90s. The framework of the chair is pierced with peg holes in all directions. Chair parts of different functions and in diverse styles could be ordered from a catalogue, and assembled by the user at will. Ironic interpretation of many furniture classics was easily achieved, along with more eclectic solutions.
Originally, we developed this project (in collaboration with Steven Holt) as a real, full-size chair. For Beylerian, the concept was re-thought as a small toy chair, but even this reduced version never went in production.
