DIAMOND PLATE PEN FOR ACME
The pen was conceived as a simple tube with a texture of diamond plate steel. With reference to this common industrial pattern we wanted to create a rugged yet decorative object, with the “downtown New York” character. To produce a seamless tube with diamond-plate surface turned out to be a difficult task. To solve it, we proposed an technique of acid etching “in reverse”, so innovative that the company had it patented in China.
