GOOD NIGHT LIGHTS FOR FLOS
Success of our children rugs for Handy resulted in a commission by Flos to design a series of unusual light fixtures: rugs that incorporated a small rechargeable LED light as a night light for kids. Children could activate the rug by stepping or even jumping on it.
In essence, the project was a fusion of the two cultures: technological and handcrafted. On one hand, we had access to state of the art engineers and production facilities and on the other, artisan craft production in India. Technology can be intimidating to small children and by encasing state of the art technology in a soft fluffy rug we wanted to create a user-friendly, protective, and reassuring product.
