SURPRISE NOTEBOOKS FOR TRAFFIC WORKS
A series of small notebooks appropriated the popular imagery of Mantelpiece Painting: big-eyed children, cute kittens, romantic horses, tropical flowers. Each notebook has a double cover. On lifting a first transparent cover, a second one is revealed, which provides an unexpected funny commentary on the conventional image. The blue boy is a “portrait” of our son Bobby, who was losing his baby teeth at the time.
