MONA LISA CLOCK FOR KIKKERLAND
Mona Lisa Clock, one of ConstantinBoym’s first critically acclaimed designs (see year1987), was put in production again almost twenty years later. A funny commentary on time and timelessness, with a wink at the history of the avant-garde,the clock got its unexpected boost in 2006 from the notoriety of The Da Vinci Code blockbuster.
Made in China by Kikkerland, the clock is offered for a fraction of its 1990’s price, yet some of the precious quality of the “original” has been almost inevitably lost.
