Gourmet Settings, a Toronto-based company of contemporary flatware, commissioned us to complement their product lines with designs of “occasional” flatware, aimed at younger and hipper customer base.
Altogether, seven patterns have been produced, each aimed at different niche of the market. The designs take their themes from diverse sources, from the robust US Army utensils, to modernist First Class airline flatware, to sinister Victorian Gothic table settings.
The unusual pattern Hybrids is an intentionally mismatched set, with a masculine knife, feminine spoons, and “hermaphrodite” forks. It is supposed to freely mix with any stray flatware one may already have around the kitchen.
