The Lower East Side History Fence is a winning entry in an open competition for a temporary artwork that stretches along 400+ linear feet of chain link fence on the south side of Delancey Street. The art project was initiated and funded by the Lower East Side Business Improvement District (LES BID), with cooperation of the local Community Board.
The installation pays homage to generations of Loisaida residents, frequently depicted in wall murals by artists and collectives in this old New York City neighborhood.
